Iran has filed a complaint with the UN Security Council and the UN chief over US President Donald Trump’s threats of military action against the Islamic Republic.

Iran’s Permanent Envoy to the UN accused Trump of violating the UN charter that forbids the use of force against other nations. Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi said Washington will be responsible for any of its adventurous moves against Tehran. He said the Islamic Republic will spare no effort is defending the Iranian nation and their interests. Trump issued the threats after American media claimed Tehran was planning to assassinate the US envoy to South Africa in retaliation for the killing of top Iranian General Qassem Soleimani. Iran has already dismissed the report as false and a bid to incite Iranophobic sentiments.
