Clashes have broken out between demonstrators and police during fresh protests against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem al-Quds.

At least a dozen protesters were arrested during the demonstration. The demonstrators gathered outside Netanyahu’s residence to condemn his policies and call for his resignation. Israelis have been staging street rallies on an almost daily basis to protest soaring unemployment and Netanyahu’s handling of the covid-19 pandemic. They are furious at a rise in the number of infections and a return of coronavirus restrictions. Anti-regime sentiments have been compounded by corruption allegations facing the prime minister. Netanyahu went on trial in May on charges of bribery, fraud and breach of trust, but he denies any wrongdoing.
