Iran says the U-S has legal obligations to implement both the 20-15 nuclear deal and U-N Security Council Resolution 22-31 that endorsed it. Iran's ambassador to the U-N rejected Washington’s claim that the accord known as the J-C-P-O-A has no legal standing at the U-N. Majid Takht-Ravanchi accused the U-S of shirking its responsibility toward the agreement and resorting to what he called media stunt. The U-S unilaterally withdrew from the nuclear pact in 20-18 and re-imposed anti-Tehran sanctions. Since then, the White House has been exerting pressure on the remaining signatories to follow suit.
