The United States has admitted to killing civilians once again in its airstrikes in Somalia.
The U-S Africa Command says it killed one civilian and injured three others in an airstrike in the town of Jilib in February. This is the second such admission this year. An initial report published in April said two civilians were killed and three others were injured in an air raid in early 20-19. The U-S has been conducting bombing operations in several Muslim countries including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, and Somalia over the past years. The airstrikes, which are not authorized by the U-N, are carried out under the pretext of targeting militants. But reports on the ground show that civilians are mainly the victims of such strikes.
