North Korea has declared a state of emergency over what has been reported as the country's first suspected coronavirus case.

Authorities have imposed a lockdown on the border city of Kaesong after discovering infections there. The country’s Leader Kim Jong-Un has also convened an emergency meeting to issue a high alert to contain what he has called the vicious virus. State media has described the situation as dangerous, warning that the disease could lead to a disaster. North Korea closed its borders in late January after COVID-19 emerged in neighboring China and began to spread like wildfire.
