The UN World Food Program has warned that food insecurity in war-ravaged Yemen is reaching alarming levels.

Byrs added that millions of people are on the brink of famine in Yemen. She said countries around the world must scale up their humanitarian assistance to address the crisis. Earlier on Wednesday, a joint report by several U-N agencies said the number of people facing high level of acute food insecurity will increase from two million to three-point-two million between July and December. The report said that economic shocks, conflict, floods and now the novel coronavirus are to be blamed for a sharp rise in food insecurity in Yemen. Saudi Arabia started its war on Yemen in 20-15, killing and displacing civilians and damaging the country’s infrastructure.
