US stocks slump amid renewed fears about the re-imposition of lockdown measures aimed at restricting the spread of the coronavirus.

The three major US indexes fell as much as 3 percent, as investors grew anxious about grim forecasts of economic recovery in case of a fresh round of quarantine measures. This comes as governors of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut said visitors from high-risk states must self-quarantine for 14 days on arrival. The United States is the world’s worst-hit country by the pandemic. So far over 2-point-4 million cases have been reported in the country, with more than 122-thousand fatalities.
