The European Commission says the US threats to hit the EU’s products with more tariffs worth three billion dollars are very damaging.

A spokesman for the Commission said Brussels is concerned that the US measures would hurt companies on both sides of the Atlantic. Britain also urged the US not to add more tariffs, warning that ensuing tit-for-tat measures would be harmful for the two sides’ businesses. The US has already levied tariffs on 7.5 billion dollars worth of European goods as part of disagreement over aircraft subsidies. President Donald Trump has also made numerous threats to impose new tariffs with the intent of receiving better terms in the US-Europe trade relationship.
